Friend of shooter in murder-suicide speaks

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Christopher Carrillo, 25, is the man Tucson police are calling the shooter in the murder-suicide on the south side. One of his good friends says he never expected Carrillo to do anything like this.

Daniel Ortega has been friends with Carrillo since middle school and he says in all his years of friendship he would have never guessed his friend would kill himself or his family.

Ortega says to his knowledge Carrillo did not have any weapons.

He says Carrillo never spoke of being upset or about harming himself.

He says he saw Carrillo walking down the street a just few days ago and he was fine.

Ortega says he doesn't know what would have made Carrillo do something like this.

"He was fine I don't know what was wrong with him. He was just a friend of ours, friend of the family. I can't say anything about it. It's just sad," Oretga said.

Ortega says although he did know Carrillo he didn't know too much about the rest of the family.
